Just 20 minutes south of Carroll, this family-owned distillery began producing ryes in 1920 to feed the demand during Prohibition, and it is now the largest employer in the town of Templeton.

The Carrollton Hotel has a heated indoor pool with sloped entry, but if you want to venture out, the local recreation center has an outdoor and an indoor pool, as well as baseball diamonds and courts for basketball, volleyball, racquetball, and tennis.
In 1960, when the Lakers basketball team still resided in Minnesota, their plane made an emergency landing in a Carroll cornfield. In honor of this memory, the Los Angeles Lakers built an outdoor basketball court at the Carroll Veterans Memorial Park (corner of Forest and 22nd Street).
Take in some of the best collegiate baseball around at the historic Merchants Park, built in 1949 for Carroll's semi-pro team, the Merchants.
Along this picturesque 33-mile recreational trail, you’ll see joggers, bikers, and families strolling along. The trail connects Swan Lake State Park, just south of Carroll, to Blackhawk Lake State Park.
This locally owned brewery creates palate-pleasing lagers and ales, which you can see being made during a distillery tour and then sample in their taproom.
Beautiful Swan Lake Park’s 510 acres encompasses the lake and wooded areas home to deer and birds. It is also a starting point for the Sauk Rail Trail.
